805 Insulation
About Us
Your insulation plan should fit the building and the work you have in mind. An existing home may need an attic update or old insulation removed. During a remodel, open walls and floors may give us access to areas that need insulation. A new home or commercial space needs a plan that fits the construction schedule.
We serve Santa Barbara from our base in Lompoc. We work with homeowners, builders, general contractors, and businesses, and we explain what we recommend before installation begins. Our work is backed by CSLB License #1058974.
What Is Behind the Walls?
Santa Barbara has single family and multiunit housing, as well as established historic areas. These buildings do not all have the same attic layouts, wall depths, or access beneath their floors. Insulation can also be hard to judge when it is hidden behind finished surfaces. An attic may have uneven coverage, while existing material elsewhere may need removal before new work begins. Choosing a product before looking at the space can lead to a plan that does not fit the building.
Start With the Building
We review the area you want to address and the condition of any insulation already there. If an attic has thin or uneven coverage, we explain whether adding material or removing and replacing it makes sense. We also assess accessible underfloor areas and walls that may be suitable for insulation. For cavity wall injection, we use cellulose or fiberglass through drywall or stucco. We check the wall framing because its depth affects how much insulation we can add and the R-value we can achieve.
Everything You Need
We look at your attic’s layout, existing material, and areas with missing or uneven coverage. Then we recommend insulation work that fits the space, whether you are updating a home or planning a new build.
Some projects need old insulation removed before new material can go in. We assess the area, explain what removal involves, and plan the next step so replacement work has a clear starting point.
Blown in insulation can cover suitable attic floors and reach areas around framing. We check the layout and existing conditions before recommending it, then plan the installation for the space available.
If the space beneath your floor is accessible, we can assess it for insulation work. We look at the floor assembly and conditions in the area before recommending an installation approach.
Spray foam may suit certain areas of a home or commercial building. We review the proposed application, explain where the foam would go, and make sure the work fits the project.
Fiberglass is an option for many suitable wall, ceiling, and floor assemblies. We plan the installation around the building area, whether the work is part of construction or an update.
We use cellulose or fiberglass to fill suitable existing wall cavities through drywall or stucco. The depth of the wall framing affects how much material can be added and the R-value that can be achieved.
Sound can travel between rooms through a wall assembly. Where the project and wall design allow it, we install acoustic wall insulation to help reduce that transfer in homes and business spaces.
